Cats are inherently laid back and lazy creatures – they can fall asleep any time. More than anything, cats are flexible and limber and thus have the ability to fall asleep anywhere and in any position. Here are 20 of the most awkward cat sleeping positions – you decide if they’re cute or dangerous.
1. The Hammock
Snuggled up in the comfort of a bamboo basket, made just for one – for that unadulterated, uninterrupted sleep. Don’t forget your hat!
2. The Double Bed
You will need a partner for this one. The goal is not so much comfort as an expression of sheer, unadulterated greed.
3. The Box
Any old box will do, but two of your feet – must remain visible form the outside the container at all times – for a quick escape.
4. The Backstroker
Am I on the edge?
5. The Baby Nap
Sleep like a baby, in the most literally way.
6. The Pile Up
For this, you will need at least three friends who are not averse to your sleeping on them, dogs included.
7. The Drunken Radiator
I can’t make it up the radiator.
8. The Dog Nap
Find a dog. Cuddle up and imitate dog.
9. The Full Stretch
10. The Window Sill
I’m not at all concerned about falling off. I have nine lives afterall.
11. The Clothes Dryer
Imagine that you are a wet T-shirt, fresh from the washing machine. Drape yourself accordingly.
12. The Head Rush
Head hanging off the scratch post with paws up in the air. Let gravity take care of the rest.
13. The Odd Ball Out
For this one, you have to find two of a kind, dogs even.
14. The Dog Bed
Not a bed for dogs, but a bed that is made of dogs. I.e., the most comfortable bed you will ever sleep on that also smells kind of funky.
15. The Office Worker Who Fell Asleep
16. The Married Couple
Hold my paw while you sleep.
17. The Full Sit-up
To achieve the full situp, you must begin with the genuine intention of exercising your abs and promptly fall asleep midway through the task. This position is extremely advanced and not recommended for amateur sleepers.
18. The Spoon
The goal here is not so much intimacy as it is the socially uncomfortable sharing of a physical space with someone. Bonus points if your arm falls asleep but you’re too embarrassed to move it.
19. The Sunbather
The trick is to look like someone who is acting comfortable whilst also appearing extremely uncomfortable. Let’s take this excellent opportunity to coin the term “meta-comfortable.”
20. The Semi-Circle
Tuck your tail between your legs and imagine that you are an omelet.
